Paree optimizes the engineering process with Typical Manager

Paree optimizes the engineering process with Typical Manager

03 May 2021

In 2019, Yellax was introduced to the organization Paree, to talk about the design of control systems. The first meetings were held and Yellax soon entered into a collaboration with Paree. Fundamental projects are now being realized with Typical Manager.  The continued development of the tool and the process surrounding it encompasses the main focus.

In 2020, Paree started a major project with Typical Manager: Typical Manager has been used to generate electrical schematics, data for PLC software and technical documents. “A good project start is crucial for creating an excellent design. Not the generation part, but the change in the engineering design process yielded us the most,’ Frank Traas of Paree explains.

Highly increase design quality

Lennert Nienhuis and Johnny Wisse add to that: ‘To engineer well, you need the project details. These details are filled in and supplemented at an early stage, for example via the questionnaire that is picked up by the project leader. Everyone works from the same source, which gives control over project changes. Moreover, the different disciplines all use the same input. This brings advantages: the I/O format can be classified quickly and easily with Typical Manager. Before we used Typical Manager, the project leader did all the preparatory work. Afterwards, many questions still had to be answered. Typical Manager has changed this working method and accordingly, everyone has been put in better power.’

‘The new engineering process which is focused on data provides even more benefits than the generation itself’

Grip on engineering

‘Typical Manager enforces the multidisciplinary working method, which highly improves the quality of the design. An item tag or list of components are important data carriers that are used in a multidisciplinary way for managing data. Typical Manager forces this structure. Consequently, the engineering process has been completed satisfactorily.”

Further development for the best result

The first projects have now been completed successfully. Yellax is impressed by Paree’s approach. Is there room for improvement that we can include in subsequent processes? Always! We may have started a little early. At first, there was little insight into the exact possibilities of Typical Manager and what you have to do yourself to make it work for you. An important take-away that we take into account for future projects and customers. Fortunately, our helpdesk is highly appreciated and we meet our customers perfectly in this aspect. Together we discover how we can get better and innovate continuously. After all, there is plenty of potentials: if we better devise and coordinate the typicals with the end customers in advance, we can achieve even more. Together we can achieve the best results with each other!

Yellax thanks Paree for the openness before, during and after the implementation. Despite the distance between Zeeland and Utrecht, our cultures fit together perfectly. Perhaps it is because of that beautiful farm where Paree is located… haha! But beyond that, we find plenty of reasons to keep working together!
