More insight into company standards with Typical manager 2018 service pack 1

08 October 2018

Creating and managing a company standard is a complex task. To do this successfully, having clear insight into the company standard is fundamental. Typical Manager 2018 service pack 1 provides a quick and clear overview in the use of, for example, typicals. This results in more efficient working within a project.

“The utility has been greatly improved by the functionality ‘find references’, a smarter project import and improved user management”
.

Find all references

Typical Manager offers the possibility to establish company standards with PLC/SCADA software, reports, documents and electrical diagrams. ‘Find all references’ gives the user clearer insight into where, for example, typicals have been applied and how I/O has been used within different products. The ‘Find all reference’ button shows in one overview where I/O is used. It is then possible to navigate to the correct screen directly. This provides insight into, among other things, the use of:

  • Attributes;
  • I/O (signal) types, symbolic & text;
  • Typicals;
  • Modules;
  • Templates;
  • Products;
  • Interfaces;
  • Variants & options;
  • Etc.
    .

Work more efficiently with projects

Typical Manager 2018 service pack 1 also includes several improvements to make a project more efficiently. For example, it is possible to directly import attribute values while importing a tag list. Furthermore, the new release offers a function to create panels that do not yet exist directly during import. In many cases, this means that it is no longer necessary to import the same file several times. It also prevents the user from finding out at a later stage that a panel still needs to be created. Also, it is possible to mark Location Formats (for automatic classification of typicals) as ‘Default’. These are then immediately selected when creating a new project. Overall, these improvements ensure a faster start and completion of projects within Typical Manager.

Improved Attribute Filters

Attribute filters provide unambiguous overviews of data within the project or company standard. These filters now offer you the possibility to indicate whether they can be used within the project environment or the company standard. In addition, it is possible to create attribute filters that are specifically intended for one discipline. These improvements provide more overview within the attribute filter, making it faster and easier to use.

Typical Manager Control Center extended with user management

Typical Manager Control Center is mainly used for creating and updating databases. This function now offers the possibility to create, delete and manage your users. This makes it possible to:

  • Add users (also from the Active Directory)
  • remove users;
  • copy users (settings);
  • Activate and deactivate users;
  • Set a generic look & feel;
  • Import/Export Users(Settings).

This new version of Typical Manager 2018 service pack 1 offers more insight into the company standard, ensures more efficiency in projects and attribute filters and provides excellent simple user management.
